Buttons, no bows, the kindliness of neighbours

Still being blogged by androids and I am not really here - let  us consider it to being similar to a pre-recorded television programme.  I hope that the real me is getting lots of work done and not wasting the time that she has set aside getting distracted by making things and sorting 'stuff' out..........where is that Veno's....

I have always had lovely neighbours - the other day I was beckoned across the road by one of them and asked if I wanted any old buttons...oh dear.  Anyway I came away with a carrier bag of buttons and set to work using them. Pausing only to take a nice photo or two first...

What is the odd thing is that only that morning (as this is not 'live' the 'morning' is now a few weeks ago - I am getting confused and still feeling a little like Dr Who!) I started making a little button brooch (as if I need any more..) and realised that I was lacking any aqua/teal/turquoise or yellow buttons which I had been looking for....but here they were in my carrier bag!

So with some of these I made a little button brooch - using the florists wire that I had used as the handle for my Tala tin (which I think is another post that I have posted to the android....I am in the Fourth Dimension....said in an echoey voice please) ..tra la la.

There were lots of other lovely buttons and bits and bobs

We shall end with Maille (which is pronounced Mollie) doing a Mollie Makes magazine cover re-enactment!

    1. I have resisted the 'button path' to any great extent but I certainly see the attraction!

  5. Hello dear Jenny, How sweet of your lovely neighbors! I am so happy they gave you such pretty buttons to enjoy! No doubt you are an equally good neighbor to them! I enjoyed your lovely photos, especially the last one! It certainly is Mollie Makes magazine cover material! That is my favorite magazine! The buttons are all so lovely and I adore the button brooch you made! I hope you are accomplishing all that you want to. It is so nice to still have you posting. Have a lovely day! xo~Paula

    2. You are very welcome sweet friend! I am sure you have kept very busy, it is just difficult to get everything done that we would like to, and we must learn to have some rest and fun in between the work! I am learning that! :) We had some much needed rain, but the sun is back out and I am glad of it! I hope your weather has improved and you are enjoying sunshine too! Thank you for always being a dear heart! Love, Paula

  7. There's something so appealing about colourful old buttons! I love them and have a large jar full - don't know why, as I can't sew, but they always seem too useful to get rid of - and they look SO pretty all together. Lovely photos and a lovely blog! Paula x

    1. Aww many thanks - it is the mix of colours do you think that makes it attractive, all jumbled up but comes together nicely!

  8. I cannot think of a better way to spend my time.
I love buttons and I think it goes back to visiting my gran who had no toys at her house. To pass time I would sort out her button jar, I was always a bit sad when I had to put them all away.
    Lovely blog.
