Whiling away a wet day

I don't wish to become tooooo painful about pinterest but I shall ask at the start if these photos are not posted there -  my photos continue to be posted just after I have sent them here.  I might as well just miss out the blog bit and post to pinterest with no text at this rate!!

Anyway I have been meaning to make one of these for the children's lunch money for some time - so the other day was that day  - only took about 10 minutes while listening to the radio.

Best to stop part way and have a nice cup of tea...with biscuit...Just to mention that Dom made me this cuppa and chose a 'nice' cup because at the time I was a bit cheesed off for some reason.  Dom would rather have a plain white cup so I knew that he had made an effort here.

Then continue with your sewing - just using little hand stitches

Zip it together even though you have not finished sewing it - too keen to see it finished!

Then slurp some more tea in order to reveal this nice picture inside the cup!

Then finish off!

I spent a good hour zipping and unzipping  just because - ma-jeeco (phonetic spelling of strange words we use in our house)!

Now that I have got the hang of it I am going to make some more..

  1. Hello sweet Jenny! I certainly hope people will respect your wishes about pinterest! I feel badly you have to deal with that, and I so hope you will continue your lovely blog! The little zipper bags are beautiful! I know your girls will appreciate them! How sweet of Dom to make you a cup of tea in such a pretty teacup! Thank you for sharing the link for the tutorial! Have a lovely day! xo~ Paula

    2. Dear Jenny, thank you! That means so much to me! You are always thoughtful and considerate too! I enjoy your blog and flickr so much! I don't want to see you go away ever! I don't think anyone would be interested in pinning my photos, but I do put my blog name on them just the same, though I told my hubby I am sure it could be cropped right out! I don't have a pinterest account either. I don't understand why people won't respect your wishes, you always ask nicely! The very least they could do is write you and ask you nicely if you would give them permission to pin your photos and give you credit for them! It is a lot of working setting up, taking the photos, loading them up, editing them and then posting them! I appreciate what you do and truly hope you keep at it! Much love, Paula

  2. I think you should put writing on your photos, like happy loves rosie does for example. It seems to be the only way. Do love your blog and photos so much!

    2. Sad that I am here I am now going to reply to myself and say that my bloomin' cup pictures are on pinterest already - I suspect that there are a great deal of people who do not read out there...

  5. There is NOTHING better than a nice cup of tea - made by someone else - just the way YOU like it.

The cup is fabulous - but you always have fabulous cups. I almost typed "crockery" - that's what my father called all things pottery and china. His funny (well funny to 21st century Canadian ears) expressions always seem to pop up in my mind at the oddest moments!

I really like the little purse. I shall have to bookmark it to come back to when I get a little more time. They look like they would make very nice gifts.

    :)

    1. I totally agree with you about nothing nicer! I do love old crocks! Do make some purses - very simple to do (otherwise I would not have managed it!)
