Shop extension...not for pinterest please

Small shop extension added...some further 'stock' shuffling....

'Big' shop looks down imperiously on 'Little Shop'....'Little Shop' is a little a feared...

I have only come across this Mabel Lucie Attwell fabric once or twice...time to say goodbye (does anyone else think in 'songs'?)

Oh no - this fabric is rather lovely....oh dearie me....dearie....dearie....dearie me...'Little Shop' having first night fears....

Thank you for kind words this morning on my other post - but blow me down when the photos from that very post where I vent my spleen appeared on Pinterest this morning just a while later -  it was the final straw. So no thank you to Kim Cammack Hesson who decided that it did not really matter what the content was.  I realise that many people are really not interested in this blog whatsoever just the photos for their own pages. I had thought that I could make this visible to only a few but I don't know how to do this so I will have to have a little think. I had over 2000 views yesterday and similar today ( by the way I have no idea if that is a small or large amount ) but either way what I would not care a fig if it is was just one person who stayed awhile, looked and read and moved on...my hope for this blog was to share ideas, creativity and thoughts - all things to be taken away and reformed in your own style.  That is exactly what I have gained from your blogs too - smiles and thoughts, good ideas and 'oh I like that' sort of things.  As I have said on flickr I had not expected it to be a repository for others to take away...

Just adding in one or two more posts as I twiddle my thumbs waiting to hear back  from Pinterest as I am sure the next thing that they say is that if blog is no longer public I cannot lodge a complaint.  I have been very hurt by the whole Pinterest thing and I am not really interested if people meant to be hurtful or not, if they took the time to read they would know.  Must get on with real life.  Actually it is no bad thing - I have 100 exam papers arriving next week to mark and applying for another job - time to put aside these childish things and get on with earning some proper money I think!

Dream of a little on-line or real shop still there in my head.....

If you do happen to be in Chichester next Saturday and if you see a stall that looks a little like this one then please announce yourself by saying: 'Your name is Chalky White and I claim my prize'.   I will  have a little something waiting for you  (oh - should say I am not expecting 100s to turn up saying this!!)...ho, ho.  I am still laughing....

  2. Oh Jenny I am so cross and disappointed for you that people are still pinning your work when you have politely asked them not to so many times! What is wrong with people? Well done for naming and shaming, though unfortunately I imagine she has no shame.

Your shops look wonderful, I only wish I was coming to Chichester this weekend so I could come and say hello. Have a lovely weekend. (Oh and yes I do think in songs!) Rachel xx

  3. I just wanted to stop by and say that your blog & your products are gorgeous. I was directed here by Pinterest and I have to admit that I immediately pinned the photo before I hit your website but I went back and deleted it so no one will pin from my pin. That's actually probably what's happening, unfortunately. I hope that those pins that remain out there will bring you business instead of being something duplicated. Best of luck!!! Allison

  4. What a pain this Pinterest thing! I've never really understood the idea behind it at all and after a couple of weeks I closed my account, especially after I read about your problems. Would it help if you splatter your watermark all over the pictures? I know that makes it much less attractive but at least they could find you again and then maybe do some shopping in your little shop?
I don't know, just so frustrating...
Love your stuff (and your posts) as always! :-)

  6. Sorry, didn't mean to delete my comment, it appeared twice and then disappeared again.
I just wanted to say that I wish you luck in your fight, but that I didn't think that everyone understood how Pinterest really works, so they may not realise that they are infringing your rights and your copyright, although there is no excuse recently as you have made it very clear.
I found you via the BBC Homes and Antiques article, not Pinterest, and I am sure there are many other like me who just appreciate a very beautiful blog and do not feel inclined to pinch bits of it for themselves.
    Best wishes.

  9. Well, I wish I could make it to Chichester. (Not to claim a prize but just to meet you - a like-minded lover of vintage embroideries.)

So sorry that you are struggling with the Pinterest issue - I hope they answer you and I hope this all gets resolved...it's terribly arrogant of Pinterest to assume that everybody wants their stuff pinned. I don't want my pics nicked either.

You pop-up shop is just wonderful. Such a delight to look at and so inspiring. Amidst all the lousy things that happen in life it's so good to have a lovely little place to visit and forget the ugly stuff for while -and your blog is one of those places that is a joy. Just wanted you to know that. :)

Thank you for note about 'shop' - perhaps you are not too far away from me geographically? Blogness is all a bit daft really but it keeps me off the streets at night!

  11. I've only just discovered your blog recently and think it is lovely. I'm really sorry that you are having so much trouble with Pinterest and people pinning when you have asked them not to. I would so love to be able to visit Chichester this weekend. It is a place full of such happy memories for me as my Grandparents lived in West Wittering from when I was 7 until 32 when sadly they both died so we spent so many happy holidays visiting them down there. It was sad that they didn't live near us in Yorkshire anymore but lovely to be able to visit such a beautiful part of the World so regularly. Although they're no longer there my Hubbie and I often visit the area so our little boy can know one of the places where his Mummy spent so many happy times. I hope you do really well with your stall. Your pop up shop is totally gorgeous. Fiona x

  16. sadly, I found your blog on pinterest (where there was a comment about you not wanting your photos pinned), but I've also read it today. I love your style! I know there are some pages that you can't pin from, I have absolutely NO webmaster experience, but I think pictures that aren't html can't be pinned. I'm not sure how to make it not html but maybe you know someone. Hopefully you can figure it out and help ease your mind about it all. Keep up the good work on here, your stuff is beautiful and I enjoy your writing, too :)

  17. Hi there, I found your blog a few days ago via pinterest. I was looking for the link to a gorgeous photo of yours so I could pin it directly from here. BUT I read your post, actually I read lots of your blog and decided not to pin your pics, but to save your blog to my faves so I can peep in whenever I want to see all the vintage goodness that I love so much. I do use pinterest as a kind of 'inspiration' filing system, with links directly to wherever the inspiration comes from, but always respect anothers right to not have their pics pinned should they wish.

  19. 2nd time lucky I hope, I tried to comment yesterday but blogger was being a bugger!
I love the pop up shop, you would have to give me a not so gentle prod with a rather gorgeous umbrella to get me to move on I think!
Love the lace trim around the suitcase, I had been thinking ribbon to finish mine off...seeing yours confirms that ribbon will be the way for me
Im sure on blogger you can make the blog visible to invitees only, which would mean no new followers and a bit of admin from you to start with but would make it more cosy?
I don't understand pinterst, I use it to post pictures of stock but rarely for owt else.

  20. Hi Jenny

I love the little suitcase. I remember Mabel Lucie Atwell from when I was a little girl and I absolutely loved it then and now. I used to have an album of hers I think or certainly a big book. I only wish my mum or I hadn't got rid of it but I don't think you really appreciate these things until you are that little bit older or realise that modern day illustrations really don't compare. Somewhere up in the loft space I still have my post office set though and my John Bull printing set!

I won't say any more about Pinterest as I have said it all before and everyone else here seems to feel the same. I hope it gets resolved soon. Philippa x

I will be very sad if your blog disappears, as it really gets my creative juices a flowing and I learn lots too!

There is a way to make it private to those you choose to see, on an invite basis Go to your post list - settings - Blog readers edit... (just in case you don't already know)... sadly too much mindlessness selfishness about not just in the Pinterest world sending smiles

  26. Some of the photos posted to Pinterest may have been done with out the person knowing you objected. That is how I found your blog - I saw a photo on Pinterest of beautiful embroidery and "repinned" it to my board. It was a couple of weeks later I went back to the photo and opened it up and the link brought me to you and your wonderful blog. I have since gon back to my board and removed all the photos from your blog that I had pinned. I hope I got them all. I am glad I found you, though. Your blog is fun and your work is so very pretty.
